Is your split fair?
Put in your deal. See what you keep per visit, per hour and per year, and how that compares with other practitioners. It takes a minute, and you do not need an account.
Three things to know
Useful before you next talk about your contract.
The same percentage can pay very differently
What you keep depends on the visit fee and how busy your day is. Two people on 50% can be $20 an hour apart.
Count your unpaid hours
Notes after closing, laundry, covering the desk. The job takes that time, so it belongs in your hourly rate.
Know the usual range
In Canada, associates are usually paid 45–60% of the visit fee. 50/50 is the most common deal. Where you sit in it depends on the visit fee and how full your day is, not just the number in your contract.
